An agreement between the federal and provincial governments will allow the completion of 54 affordable housing projects in Quebec, including 5 in the Gaspé.
Quebec will receive $ 116 million for a total of 1,200 units for the entire province.
For the Gaspé, a project in Petit-Cap will include 12 housing units, La Maison des Aînés de Grande-Vallée 10 and 4 for the organization l’AID’ELLE de Gaspé.
For the mayor of Gaspé, Daniel Côté, this financial assistance will practically complete the financing of these 3 projects and at the same time fill a lack of housing in these different sectors of the MRC:
In the case of the AID’ELLE assistance and shelter in Gaspé, the housing units will meet the needs of the organization that supports women living with violence and other social problems.
Daniel Côté affirms that another housing project is underway this time in Rivière-au-Renard for a clientele with specific needs:
The other projects in Gaspésie are those of Habitations Port-Daniel-Gascons and Habitations des Aînés de Chandler.
