Camrose Police Service Weekend Report to February 22, 2021 – Canada Police Report

Camrose, Alberta – February 22, 2021 – Police dealt with a disturbance near 50 avenue and 53 street involving a male and female who were arguing. The female who was high on illicit drugs was taken to St. Mary’s hospital at her request. Later the female then called 911 requesting Police assistance with in removing the male from her home. The male left without incident.

Police assisted EMS with an intoxicated female who had fallen causing injury to her head. The female who was combative with EMS was arrested but then quickly became cooperative with medical treatment.

A citizen reported an elderly male outside a home in a T-shirt and no shoes. The 82 year old was taken back to his residence where his wife was unaware that he had left home.

February 21, 2021

The owner of an RV reported that two 30lb propane tanks had been stolen while his trailer was parked on 50 avenue in the 5400 block.

A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle exceeding the speed limit. The male driver had an outstanding Form 21 warrant for no insurance. The male was unable to make payment and was remanded into custody.

Police received a complaint of a noisy part on 51 avenue in the 5600 block. Very loud music was observed so an excessive noise violation ticket was issued and the guests left in cabs.

February 20, 2021

The driver for a local cab company attended Police headquarters when a female refused to exit his vehicle. The female who was struggling with her mental health was taken to St. Mary’s hospital and left in their care.

A traffic stop was conducted for an equipment violation and Police observed liquor inside the vehicle. All three occupants were detained and during a search of the vehicle a quantity of methamphetamine, GHB, a scale and other drug paraphernalia was located. The male driver was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, obscured license plate, liquor within easy reach and failing to produce insurance. He was released on an undertaking. A passenger was also charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and open liquor. The passenger who had just been released from jail the day prior after serving a two year sentence, was held in custody to appear before a justice of the peace.

February 19, 2021

A male reported that the catalytic converter had been stolen from his motorhome while parked at 38 avenue in the 5800 block.

A resident reported a suspicious vehicle parked on the street playing loud music with several occupants. Police attended and while dealing with the individuals a can of bear spray was observed in the inside door pocket as well as open liquor inside the vehicle. A male was charged with possession of a dangerous weapon along with being issued a ticket for having liquor within easy access of occupant. A passenger was also charged with a liquor violation.

While conducting patrols in an unmarked vehicle, Police observed a vehicle being driven erratically. The driver then unknowing was baiting the unmarked Police vehicle to a race while starting and stopping and yelling challenges at Police. The vehicle then sped off at approximately 100 km/hr on Grand Drive. No attempt was made to pursue the vehicle but the registered owner was contacted. Sometime later a parent attended Police headquarters with her son who was then charged with racing, careless driving, speeding and window tint.
