One of the companies of the Ontario businessman manages the Montreal campus of the Cégep, owns the building that houses it and is responsible for recruiting many Indian students into its ranks.
Radio-Canada learned on Friday afternoon that he is currently wanted by the Permanent Anti-Corruption Unit (UPAC) and is facing three charges including fraud, breach of trust and production and use of false documents.
The management of the Cégep affirms that it will follow developments related to the accusations closely, but recalls that the accusations are against Naveen Kolan and not his company.
As far as we know at the moment, the Cégep is not at all affected by these allegations and they affect the president and not the entire Matrix organization., points out the spokesperson for the Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles-de-la-Madeleine, Julie Lépine.
Ms. Lépine adds that the Cégep will offer its
full collaboration with official authorities if they came to contact him in connection with these accusations.
Last February, the Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles and two companies belonging to Naveen Kolan have been sued for default of payment by an India-based recruiting company.
