Cochrane, Alberta – After a three-month long investigation, the Cochrane RCMP have charged and arrested a male with drug trafficking.
Cochrane RCMP and the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT), carried out a successful operation in January of this year targeting street level drug trafficking on the Stony Nakoda First Nation whereby quantities of fentanyl were seized. A warrant for the arrest of the male was subsequently issued.
Robert Barrie Pettitt (38), a resident of Calgary was arrested on Feb. 3, 2021 and is facing the following charges:
Trafficking in a controlled drug or substance (x2)
One count of possession of proceeds of crime
After a Judicial hearing, Pettitt was released to appear in Cochrane Provincial Court on March 9, 2021.
As this matter is now before the courts, no further updates are anticipated.
