Cochrane RCMP on scene of single fatal motor vehicle collision Highway 1 near Morley, Alberta – COMPLETE – Canada Police Report

Morley, Alberta – Traffic flow has resumed on Highway 1 and no further closures are anticipated.

Cochrane RCMP remain in the area conducting the investigation into the cause of the collision.

Motorists are asked to be aware of Emergency personnel in proximity of Highway 1 and to reduce their speed accordingly.

No further updates are anticipated.

Morley, Alta. – Cochrane RCMP are currently on scene of a fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 1 between Morely Road and Ozada Road.

Shortly, west bound traffic will be interrupted for approximately a half hour where no west bound traffic will flow between Morley Road and Ozada Road. Motorists can access Highway 1A at Morley Road as an alternate route.

Following the temporary westbound closure, east bound traffic on Highway 1 will be interrupted between Ozada Road and Morley Road for approximately a half hour. Motorists can access Highway 1 at the Highway 1X exit as an alternate route.

At approximately 10:00 a.m., Cochrane RCMP responded to a vehicle in a field adjacent to Highway 1. An adult male was located in proximity to the vehicle believed to be the driver and who had been ejected as the result of a roll-over motor vehicle collision. The male was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The RCMP Collision Reconstructionist is on scene assisting with the investigation as well as Emergency Vehicles.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes.

An update will be provided when more information becomes available.
