COVID-19: 10 new infections in Gaspésie | Coronavirus

With a new infection among residents, the Manoir Saint-Augustin de Gaspé now has a record of 66 residents and 35 employees having contracted the virus.

The region currently has 210 active cases of COVID-19.

In addition, 10 new infections were also reported to the New Carlisle Detention Center, including 75% of inmates contracted the virus.

Case by MRC :

  • Avignon: 368 cases
  • Bonaventure: 326 cases (+1)
  • Rocher-Percé: 217 cases (+5)
  • Côte-de-Gaspé: 335 cases (+4)
  • Upper Gaspé: 19 cases
  • Îles-de-la-Madeleine: 28 cases

* Cases identified at the New Carlisle Detention Center are no longer included in the MRC of Bonaventure by public health, but rather in the MRC where inmates have their permanent address.

New cases reported by regional public health add to Thursday’s balance sheet and bring the total number of infections to 1292 in the region, of which 1044 are considered cured.

More screenings in Rocher-Percé

In Chandler, the screening clinic by appointment, which was located at the hospital, has been moved to 80 boulevard René-Lévesque.

The CISSS de la Gaspésie also added a screening site at the Port-Daniel-Gascons municipal complex, located at 440 route Bellevue. Exceptionally, it is not necessary to make an appointment before going there.

This site is open until 6 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. From next week, it will be open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from noon to 6 p.m.

In Quebec, public health reports 1,259 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of contaminations in the province to 129,699 since the start of the pandemic.
