COVID-19: 16 new cases in Gaspésie | Coronavirus

Three of the new cases recorded on Friday are linked to the outbreak in CHSLD of New Carlisle, which now has 13 employees and 13 residents who have tested positive for COVID-19.

While the region deplored Thursday two new deaths linked to the coronavirus, no additional deaths were reported on Friday.

The Integrated Health and Social Services Center (CISSS) of Gaspésie indicates that 681 people are now considered cured of the disease, and that ten people are still hospitalized.

There are therefore currently 195 active cases of COVID-19 in the region, including 81 in the MRC of Bonaventure.

Bas-Saint-Laurent records Friday two new cases of COVID-19. However, the record of MRC in La Matanie and La Matapédia remains stable, with 14 and 22 infections reported respectively since the start of the pandemic.

In Quebec, public health adds 1,108 cases of COVID-19 to its provincial report in addition to 17 new deaths.

On the Ottawa side, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced additional support for indigenous peoples so that they can better cope with the long-term impacts of the pandemic.
