This new death, on the 15the in the region, is the result of the COVID-19 outbreak at the Résidence des Bâtisseurs in Matane. This is the second death in as many days for this retirement home.
However, no new case has been identified for the past 24 hours. The balance sheet therefore remains at 66 residents and 20 workers who contracted the coronavirus.
The Bas-Saint-Laurent Integrated Health and Social Services Center (CISSS) also confirms that the recovery toll has risen to 547 recovered people.
In addition, 549 screenings were carried out during the day of Friday.
Yesterday, regional public health was worried about the situation in Rimouski, knowing that several private parties and evenings in bars led to the spread of the coronavirus.
Rimouski’s La P’tite Grenouille bar has also temporarily closed its doors, preventively.
In Quebec, public health has 1,189 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours and 32 new deaths.
