COVID-19: The Gaspé and the Islands region has 4 new cases

Transmission of the COVID-19 virus continues in Gaspé with 4 new people infected, 3 in the Rocher-Percé RCM and 1 in Côte-de-Gaspé.

Since the start of the pandemic, 1,685 cases have been identified as positive in the Gaspésie and Îles-de-la-Madeleine region. In the balance sheet of the day, 10 new people were cured, bringing the total to 1,587. The number of hospitalizations remains unchanged, ie 9 and no deaths have been recorded for a total of 44 since last March.

Currently, there are 54 cases still active, including 33 in the Rocher-Percé MRC, 9 in Côte-de-Gaspé and 7 in Avignon. Currently there are less than 5 active cases in Îles-de-la-Madeleine, Haute-Gaspé and Bonaventure.

In Quebec, there are 1,934 new cases and 47 more deaths for a total of 8,782. In addition, 1,497 people are hospitalized at this time.
