Diane Lebouthillier says she is ready for the election campaign.
The member for Gaspésie-les-Îles, on the other hand, expects to be the object of criticism from her announced opponent, the Bloc candidate Guy Bernatchez:
This will be the second time that Guy Bernatchez and Diane Lebouthillier will face each other in a federal election campaign.
If she is preparing for the democratic exercise, her current priority nonetheless remains to fulfill her responsibilities related to her duties as an elected representative and Minister of National Revenue:
Diane Lebouthillier will also face Jean-Pierre Pigeon, whose candidacy for the Conservatives was officially announced on November 20.
In 2019, this same Jean-Pierre Pigeon had collected 3,000 votes, or nearly 8% of the votes.
Diane Lebouthillier, for her part, finished election night with 42.5% of the votes against 40.8% for the Bloc, Guy Bernatchez, a difference between the two leaders of 637 votes.
