The director of Hockey Gaspésie-Les Îles, Gabriel Vallée, is very disappointed that the government is still delaying the resumption of activities for young hockey players in the region.
Gabriel Vallée considers that it is a lack of respect towards young people and mainly for those who reside in regions where the number of new cases of COVID-19 is stable. He does not understand why they are the ones who have to foot the bill in the end.
He mentions that he does not base a wait for the announcement of the progressive deconfinement plan for sports which will be unveiled next week. In his opinion, it would be possible to authorize the resumption of activities in compliance with preventive measures for a certain number of players.
To ensure compliance with Public Health and Hockey-Quebec protocols, his association has invested thousands of dollars in protective equipment for players and coaches.
