Edmonton, Alberta – In the interest of public safety, the Edmonton Police Service is issuing the following warning; Cyle Larsen is a convicted sexual offender and the Edmonton Police Service has reasonable grounds to believe he will commit another sexual offence against someone under the age of 16 while in the community and, as such, there is a duty to warn the public about the risk LARSEN poses.
Larsen will be residing in the Edmonton area. LARSEN will be bound by a Probation Order and will be monitored by the Edmonton Probation Office. LARSEN was recently released from the Edmonton Remand Centre.
Larsen is considered a child sex offender with pedophilic interests towards both male and female children. LARSEN has a history of opportunistic offending against children known to him; and has shown he will groom and/or lure his victims if given the chance.
Larsen has been placed on the following Probation conditions:
He shall report to a Probation Supervisor immediately upon release and thereafter as directed by his supervisor.
He will live at an address for which he has written approval from his supervisor and must get written approval to move to a different address.
He will abide by a curfew of 10:00 pm to 6:00 am daily
He will attend whatever assessment, counselling or treatment his supervisor directs him to take, which could include Psychiatric/Psychological counselling, alcohol/drug
abuse.He will complete any programs his supervisor directs him to take and provide proof satisfactory to his supervisor that he has done so.
He must agree to take medications as required
He will not purchase, possess or consume any alcohol or drugs
He will not purchase/possess or view any images of children whether in state of undress or not
He will not possess a cell phone that has not been approved by his Supervisor
If approved to possess a cell phone, he will not use the internet to access any social media sites (You Tube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, IMVU, etc)
He shall not enter into any sexual, intimate or interpersonal social relationship with any person until his/her identity has been disclosed to his supervisor. He shall not enter into any personal or romantic relationship, cohabitation, with a person who is a parent/guardian of children under the age of 16 years
He is not to have any contact or communication, direct or indirect with any person under the age of 16
He is not to be in or within 100 metres of the perimeter or places where children under the age of 16 years are likely to congregate such as any public park or public swimming area, day care centre, schools, recreation centres or public libraries.
Anyone with any information about any potential breaches of these conditions by LARSEN can contact the EPS at 780-423-4567.
The Edmonton Police Service is issuing this information and warning after careful deliberation of all related issues, including privacy concerns, in the belief that it is clearly in the public interest to inform the members of the community.
