Edmonton Police looking for witnesses, tips in basketball game stabbing – Canada Police Report


Edmonton, Alberta – The Edmonton Police Service is seeking witness information about a stabbing that allegedly occurred during a March 5 basketball game in northeast Edmonton.

On March 5, 2021 at approximately 6:30 p.m., a group of people were playing basketball at the Ozerna Park basketball court in the area of 158 Avenue and Ozerna Road. It was reported that an altercation occurred between two players, resulting in one male being stabbed.

The suspect, accompanied by several others, reportedly fled the scene in a vehicle. The victim drove himself to an Edmonton hospital, where he received treatment for a non-life-threatening injury and was later discharged.

Multiple people observed the stabbing and may have knowledge of the suspect’s identity. The suspect is described as a Middle Eastern male in his early to mid-twenties, 5’7”-5’9” tall, of a medium build, with a beard.
