The renewable energy research and innovation center, Nergica, receives $ 1.5M from Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions.
Its director, Frédéric Côté, affirms that this financial contribution supports the energy transition in full development in Quebec and necessary for the fight against climate change.
The financial assistance will also be used for the salaries of 4 resources allocated to innovation and technological transfers in the solar field:
As such, Nergica has the only research site in the world to have infrastructures of this kind in cold climates and in complex terrain based in Rivière-au-Renard for 10 years. It has a 4 MW wind farm, a 16 MW solar photovoltaic plant, a wind-diesel twinning micro-grid, wind measurement towers and lidars for laser remote sensing.
