Innisfail, Alberta – Innisfail RCMP arrested a male wanted for several property offences and evading police.
On April 19, 2021, Innisfail RCMP were travelling on Highway 2A near Niobe when an officer observed a vehicle believed to be involved in a break and enter earlier that day in Bowden, Alta. Police determined the vehicle was also towing a stolen trailer. Police observed the vehicle and identified its occupants. A traffic stop was later attempted but the vehicle failed to stop and fled police. Further observations of the vehicle were made throughout the afternoon with the assistance of RCMP support units. At one point, the occupants unhooked the stolen trailer and fled the area.
On April 23, 2021, Innisfail RCMP members executed a search warrant in relation to this investigation at a storage facility in Red Deer County, Alta. Police located and seized stolen tools, construction materials, an ATV, a stolen trailer along with fire fighting equipment stolen from Red Deer County Emergency Services in Springbrook, Alta. earlier this year.
On April 24, 2021, Olds RCMP members responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint in Bowden, Alta. Police attended and observed the occupants as the same suspects in relation to the ongoing investigation. Police tactics were used to safely arrest both suspects, which was done with no further property damage or injuries. This was a joint effort in partnership with members from Olds, Innisfail and Didsbury RCMP.
Christopher Posner (25) of Innisfail, Alta, was arrested in the vehicle and wanted on 13 outstanding arrest warrants encompassing 20 outstanding charges. He has further been charged with 37 new criminal charges from Innisfail RCMP and 9 charges from Olds RCMP related to numerous events in the Innisfail and Olds area over the last month.
Posner has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on May 3, 2021.
Lyrissa Deck (26) of Sylvan Lake, Alta. has been charged with possession of an illegal substance and possession of stolen property. She was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Didsbury Provincial Court on May 31, 2021
