Keolis Canada announced Friday that it will finally continue its intercity bus transportation service to Gaspé.
Keolis announced on January 27 that its service to the east of the province would only be maintained as far as Rimouski, leaving the Gaspé without interurban transport. The Quebec government then announced, last Tuesday, a new envelope of 10 million to support intercity bus transportation in the regions.
“The government program makes it possible to maintain services in Eastern Quebec with Orléans Express,” Pierre-Paul Pharand, CEO of Keolis Canada, explained in a statement Friday.
Keolis also warns that the services will have to be adjusted according to traffic. Since the aid granted does not cover all the costs of the network and the company continues to absorb significant financial losses.
