The Table interreligieuse de concertation asks to allow gatherings in places of worship limited to 30% of their capacity.
Currently in the red zone, gatherings in these places are limited to 10 people and in the orange zone they are limited to 25 people. Religious groups, including the diocese of Gaspé, say they agree with the health measures to protect the population.
However, it is the government’s announcement that 250 people will be able to gather in cinemas in the red zone that makes the Interfaith Table react. The gap between the limit in cinemas and 10 or 25 people in places of worship is incomprehensible.
