The cISSde la Gaspésie indicated on Saturday that 20 new people have been infected with the coronavirus for a total of 1,312 positive cases since the start of the pandemic.
It is in the MRCof Rocher-Percé where the increase is the most important with seven new cases.
Cases are also reported in the MRCHaute-Gaspésie and Îles-de-la-Madeleine, two territories so far relatively untouched by the pandemic.

New Carlisle Detention Center
The situation is being closely monitored at New Carlisle prison in Baie-des-Chaleurs, where several cases have been detected this week.
The CISSS indicates that ten detainees and an employee of the detention center are included in this latest report, and this, according to their home address. Another inmate, who does not live in Gaspésie, was also tested positive for COVID-19.

This residence is one of 14 private accommodation establishments whose situation is deemed critical by the Government of Quebec.
The Manoir Saint-Augustin de Gaspé posted Friday a report of 66 residents and 35 employees contaminated by the virus since the start of the outbreak in early November. Five residents have died.
Nine schools in the Gaspé are also affected by active cases, according to the most recent portrait published Thursday by the National Institute of Public Health of Quebec (INSPQ).
Cases were detected in five establishments of the René-Lévesque School Service Center, including the vocational training center.
Elsewhere in the region, the Anglophone and Francophone high schools of Gaspé also reported cases as well as the French-language Saint-Rosaire elementary school in Gaspé and the English-language school of Shigawake.
The CISSS indicates that 18 people are now considered cured. The region currently has 212 active cases and six people in hospital, three fewer than on Friday.
Thirty-eight people have died from COVID-19 in the Gaspésie-Îles-de-la-Madeleine region since the start of the pandemic.
Quebec posted an overall total of 6,806 deaths from the coronavirus on Saturday, including 142 that occurred in the last week.
Slight increase in cases in Matanie
Moreover, the cISSdeplores a sixth death at the Résidence des Bâtisseurs in Matane, for a total of 15 deaths linked to the virus in the territory.of Bas-Saint-Laurent
The organization has three new positive cases in the MRCde la Matanie, but none in the two private seniors’ residences where major outbreaks occurred in the past two weeks.
