SaskAlert cancelled following apprehension of male wanted in serious assault – Canada Police Report

Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan – On March 10, 2021, at approximately 1:20 p.m., Meadow Lake RCMP received a report of a serious assault that occurred at a rural location in the RM of Meadow Lake.

The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle and officers believed the suspect had an axe with him. Officers from multiple detachments and units immediately flooded the area looking for the suspect. Local EMS transported the victim to hospital with what are reported to be serious injuries.

At 1:51 p.m. the Meadow Lake RCMP issued a SaskAlert advising the public in the area to not approach the suspect or the suspect vehicle. Investigators were working to obtain a photo to assist the public in the area with identifying the suspect.

The suspect was located and arrested without incident by Meadow Lake RCMP officers shortly before 2:50 p.m. and the SaskAlert was cancelled.

The investigation into the initial report is ongoing and further details will be provided as soon as they become available.
