The lack of flexibility measures for team sports in the Gaspé exasperates both young people and those in charge of organizations.
Minister François Legault’s announcement on Tuesday is disappointing since the restrictive measures in the orange zones are similar to those in the red zone.
The physical education teacher and responsible for extracurricular activities at the CE-Pouliot school in Gaspé, Pierre-Luc Synnott, is worried about the physical and mental health of young athletes. He considers that the current situation creates little hope for young people of a possible resumption of all extracurricular activities.
Simon Germain, the director of the Imperial school sports program at CE Pouliot de Gaspé school, believes that it would have been possible to ease the current restrictions in the orange zone. He affirms that the resumption of team sports should be prioritized soon to allow young people to maintain an interest in the practice of their discipline.
